Monterrey Airport is operated by Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte OMA and it is named after General Mariano Escobedo, a prominent military figure born in Nuevo León. Monterrey International Airport ranks fourth in Mexico by passengers, cargo and aircraft movements in 2024, also holding the 13th position in Latin America and the 45th position in North America in terms of passengers. Notably, the airport has experienced rapid traffic growth, passing from 10,943,186 passengers in 2022 to 13,581,599 passengers in 2024, showing one of the fastest growth rates in recent years.
